Stock In News Update
Jakarta composite slipped 19.195 points (-0.21%) to 6,581.482. LQ45 declined 0.52% to 931.411. There were 26.271 billion shares traded worth of Rp10.276 trillion, including transaction of Rp1.279 trillion in negotiation market. 209 shares rose while 342 declined and 130 unchanged. Foreign investors sold a net Rp223.8 billion in regular markets.
The Ministry of Finance issued debt securities worth Rp157 trillion through private placement today following the Joint Decision Letter III signed by the Ministry of Finance and Bank Indonesia regarding the distribution of financing expenses of the 2021 State Budget. Thus, the realization of Government Debt Securities issuance reached Rp1,144.6 trillion by the end of the year.
According to JISDOR released Thursday afternoon, Rupiah weakened 28 points (-0.2%) to 14,265 while Spot fell 13 points (-0.09%) to 14,263.
Along the year, Jakarta Composite Index increased 10.08% while Rupiah weakened 215 points (-1.53%). 51 companies listed their shares in Indonesia Stock Exchanged worth of Rp62.61 trillion. Foreign investors recorded net purchase of Rp29.683 trillion in 2021.
Asian shares were mixed while Europeans opened mostly higher on Thursday with investors continue to assess the economic risks on the spread of Omicron.
As coronavirus cases hitting record highs, many countries are trying to limit the economic damage by relaxing rules on isolation rather than resorting to lockdowns.
Overnight stateside, The S&P 500 sailed to its 70th record close of 2021 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average also notched a record close.
Oil prices were mixed. U.S. Energy Information Administration data on Wednesday showed crude oil inventories fell by 3.6 million barrels in the week to Dec. 24, which was more than expected. Brent crude futures slipped 18 cents (-0.23%) to $79.05 while U.S. markets retreated 16 cents (-0.21%) to $76.40.
